Alligator Bioscience AB today announced the signing of a technology collaboration agreement with AstraZeneca. Under the terms of the agreement Alligator Bioscience will apply its FIND™ technology to stabilize a defined protein. AstraZeneca will use the optimised protein in an ongoing project to develop a defined new drug.
"AstraZeneca’s application of our FIND™ technology is an important milestone for us to establish ourselves within human therapeutics. AstraZeneca has the expertise, people and organization to utilise the optimised protein for the further development of a relevant drug. We also believe that our FIND™ technology might prove useful in the optimisation of other pharmaceutically interesting proteins which will enable our partners to produce high-quality therapeutics.” said Dr Nils Siegbahn, CEO of Alligator Bioscience AB.
Dr Michael Dohlsten, Global Vice President, Research Area CV&GI, at AstraZeneca, makes the following comments to the agreement: "Access to Alligator Bioscience's FIND™ technology is important for AstraZeneca as a complementary part of our technology portfolio. We anticipate that the collaboration will increase our development success ratio and shorten the time to market".
Alligator Bioscience will receive full research and development funding and, potentially, milestone payments.
